Ciro Jaumandreu

Nací en Montevideo, Uruguay, en el año 1977, en una familia muy especial en la que no había distinción entre ciencia, religión y esoterismo. Fue más que nada gracias a mi padre, el Dr. Ciro Augusto Jaumandreu, quien fuera un eminente Médico y al mismo tiempo un ser fuera de lo común por sus conocimientos esotéricos y por su profunda visión del mundo, que mi obra está íntimamente ligada a lo espiritual y a la búsqueda de la Verdad. En la adolescencia inicié mis primeros esbozos artísticos, y a los 18 años comienzo un Taller de pintura con Graziella Basso en el Centro Cultural Pro Artes. Al año decido ingresar a la Escuela de de Bellas Artes en la que estudio por dos años para luego cambiar el rumbo y estudiar por dos años con el artista uruguayo Marcelo Legrand. Hoy en día puedo asegurar que el momento de estar a solas en el Taller, generando el ambiente adecuado para el proceso creativo, es crucial para mi vida, es un momento de autoindagación, de enfrentamiento a los miedos, a las dificultades, al desapego... Ésto es para mi lo más importante, la hora de pintar, ya que más allá de lo que quede plasmado en la tela, el estado interno a la hora de hacerlo es lo que perdura y reverbera, por eso concluyo que el Arte es experiencia y la búsqueda de ser profundamente consciente de esta experiencia de creación es la búsqueda del Arte de vivir despierto. I was born in Montevideo, Uruguay, in 1977, in a very special family in which there was no distinction between science, religion and esotericism. It was mostly thanks to my father, Dr. CiroAugusto Jaumandreu, who was an eminent Doctor in Medicine and at the same time someone unusual for his knowledge and his deep esoteric world view, that my work is deeply linked to the spiritual and the pursuit of Truth. In my adolescence I began my first art sketches, when I was 18th, I begin a painting workshop with Graziella Basso at the Cultural Center Pro Artes. One year later I decide to enter the School of Fine Arts where I studied for two years, then I change course and study for two years with the Uruguayan artist Marcelo Legrand. Today I can assure that the time to be alone in my studio, creating the right atmosphere for the creative process, is crucial to my life, it is a moment of self-inquiry, coping with fears, difficulties, and to detachment. .. This is to me the most important, when painting, because beyond that to be painted on canvas, the internal state it is what lingers and reverberates, so I conclude that art is experience, and seeking to be deeply conscious of this experience of creation is the pursuit of the art of living awake.
