Anthony Fuentez

Born 1972, Anthony Fuentez brings experience and inspiration from the Southwest and the landscape of the mind to each new painting. In a self- described surrealist abstract style, Fuentez creates art in a variety of mediums, from galvanized wire to spray paint to acrylics. He draws his inspiration from physical spaces as well as larger ideas and concepts. The journey Fuentez took after leaving his hometown in 1990 carried him all across the Southwest. He attended the University of New Mexico and spent time painting in Albuquerque and Santa Fe NM. His physical movement reflected in a way his discovery of himself as an artist. Now living in San Angelo Tx, the physical reminders of places he left behind, such as outlines of lonesome adobe churches in New Mexico appear in many of his paintings and sketches.--- Amy Beth Beaver Conexion Hispana
